An Australian man that leaped past a barrier and touched Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been sent away and barred from Singapore.

The man, 26, was sentenced to more than a week in detention for being a public nuisance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the country's border control stated to Singaporean press.

The man shoved beyond security and rushed toward the performer and artist, who was participating in the Asian premier for the film on 13 November. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and high-profile gatherings, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in the past June.

The occurrence sparked outrage in Singapore, with several individuals saying he of causing further distress to the star.

The pop star has spoken of dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at her concert in the English city in several years ago resulted in the deaths of 22 people and hurt numerous attendees.

Throughout the court proceedings, the court heard he had attempted to intrude on the film's premiere multiple times, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Event security intercepted him and pinned him down.

The man subsequently shared videos thanking Grande for allowing his presence and said he was "free."

Law enforcement arrested him the subsequent day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which he confessed.

The Court Judge the judicial official was quoted by media reports as saying that Wen was "attention seeking", noting that he was incorrect to believe he would not face any penalties.

The actress has not commented on the situation.

Erivo spoke about the situation to a media outlet, stating that she "just wanted to make sure my friend was safe."

"I believe he didn't mean us harm, but you cannot be certain with such situations, and I wanted to confirm that she was alright. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
